This study tests whether playing soft sounds during deep sleep can slow down brain changes in people with REM sleep behavior disorder (a condition linked to Parkinson's disease). Who can take part

  • You must have isolated REM sleep behavior disorder (a sleep condition where you act out dreams) confirmed by a sleep study, OR have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease for less than 2 years.
  • You should not be taking any Parkinson's medications (like levodopa) currently or plan to start them during the study.
  • You must be able to speak German, French, or Italian well enough to follow instructions.
  • You must not have dementia, significant memory problems, or severe depression.
  • You should not have severe sleep apnea (pauses in breathing during sleep) or take certain sleep medications (like benzodiazepines).
