Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 50 years old
  • You must have a diagnosis of gender dysphoria
  • You must be about to start gender-affirming hormone therapy (either estrogen or testosterone)
  • You cannot have serious immune system disease or be on regular immune-suppressing medications
  • You must not have certain blood-borne viruses (HIV, hepatitis B or C, HTLV-1)
