New gout pill combined with febuxostat for high uric acid

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You must have been taking febuxostat 40 mg daily for at least 6 weeks before joining.
  • Your fasting uric acid level must be at least 390 µmol/L (first test) and then at least 360 µmol/L on a repeat test while taking febuxostat.
  • You must have a diagnosis of gout according to standard medical criteria.
  • You must have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 35.
