  • You are on a breathing machine (ventilator)
  • You have been diagnosed with ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome), AECOPD (a sudden worsening of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), or severe pneumonia
  • You do not have multiple organ failure
  • You do not have bleeding in multiple organs
