Arm therapy for chronic stroke recovery

This study tests two types of arm movement therapy—constraint-induced and bilateral training—to see if they help people who have had a stroke and still have some arm weakness. It is for adults who are in the chronic stage (at least 6 months after stroke) and have normal memory and thinking skills.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • Your stroke happened at least 6 months ago (chronic phase).
  • You have normal thinking and memory (score of 21 or above on a mental abilities test).
  • You have mild or no muscle tightness in your affected arm or leg (score of 2 or less).
  • You do not have other nervous system conditions like Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis.
  • You are willing to participate in the treatment.
