Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have a thyroid condition that requires surgery to remove all or part of the thyroid.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and attend follow-up visits for 12 weeks after surgery.
  • You have not had any previous neck surgeries or radiation to the neck area.
  • You do not have a history of keloids (thick scars) or hypertrophic scarring.
  • You do not have an active infection or use a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you are not taking strong steroids or immune-suppressing medicines.
