Who can take part

  • You are between 20 and 75 years old.
  • You are of Pakistani origin.
  • You have rheumatoid arthritis, diagnosed by standard criteria.
  • You are either about to start leflunomide or have been taking it for less than a month.
  • You are not taking any other disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) at the same time.
  • You do not have serious liver or kidney problems, active infections, inflammatory bowel disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
