Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You are scheduled for lung surgery (removing a lobe or segment, using a small camera) with one-lung breathing
  • You do not have serious lung disease (like COPD with very low breathing test results)
  • You do not have severe kidney problems
  • You have not taken ibuprofen, naproxen, or similar pain relievers in the last month
  • You do not have a history of dementia, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or other major psychiatric conditions
