Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have been diagnosed with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM).
  • Your condition must not be caused by other issues like high blood pressure or valve disease.
  • You cannot have had a procedure to reduce heart muscle thickness (like septal reduction therapy) in the last 6 months.
  • You must not have certain other heart conditions like amyloidosis or Fabry disease.
  • You must not have a low baseline heart function (LVEF below 55%) or be pregnant or have uncontrolled heart failure.

Effect of mavacamten on heart blood flow in HCM

This study tests whether the drug mavacamten (Camzyos) improves blood flow in the heart's small vessels for people with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. You will take mavacamten as prescribed and have a PET/CT scan to measure your heart's blood flow reserve.
