Who can take part

  • Your left main coronary artery must have narrowing (stenosis) that affects the main branch and both of its first two branches (LAD and LCx) in a specific pattern (Medina 1,1,1 or 0,1,1).
  • The left main artery must be 6 millimeters or smaller in diameter.
  • Both the LAD and LCx arteries must be larger than 2.75 millimeters in diameter (estimated by eye on angiogram).
  • You must not have had a prior stent procedure in the left main bifurcation area.
  • You must not have a complete blockage (chronic total occlusion) in the LAD or LCx arteries.
  • You must be 18 or older, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and able to take blood-thinning medications for at least 3 months.
