Who can take part

  • You are scheduled to receive your first kidney transplant from a living or deceased donor.
  • Your doctor considers you to be at low to moderate immunological risk.
  • You have not had a previous organ transplant, including a previous kidney transplant.
  • You do not have active infections like HIV, hepatitis B or C, or tuberculosis.
  • You do not have certain conditions like a blood clotting disorder or a history of blood clots.
