Who can take part

  • You are 65 years or older.
  • You are in generally good health (ASA 1 to 3).
  • You are having non-heart surgery with spinal or combined spinal-epidural anesthesia.
  • Your surgery is expected to last at least 2 hours.
  • You are willing to give written permission to join the study.
  • You do not have memory or thinking problems (Montreal Cognitive Assessment score 23 or higher).
