Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a total knee replacement on one knee
  • You are in good general health (classified as ASA I, II, or III)
  • Your weight is not more than 77 pounds (35 kilograms)
  • You weigh at least 110 pounds (50 kilograms)
  • You are not allergic to the medications used in the nerve blocks
