Who can take part

  • You are between 5 and 14 years old.
  • You are scheduled for planned ear surgery (like tympanoplasty).
  • You are in good health overall (ASA I or II).
  • Your parent or guardian can give permission and you can be assessed for pain and agitation after surgery.
  • You do not have any nerve, development, or behavior disorders like autism or ADHD.
  • You are not allergic to numbing medicines like lidocaine or bupivacaine.
