Irrigation volume for open fracture cleaning
Part of Injuries & trauma clinical trials.
This trial tests if using less fluid to clean open fractures (broken bones that poke through the skin) works just as well as using more fluid. It compares two different amounts of salt water (saline) to see which one helps prevent infections and helps bones heal better.

This study tests whether putting antibiotic powder directly into an open fracture wound in the emergency room can improve care outcomes. It focuses on adults treated shortly after injury.
This trial tests whether putting a powdered antibiotic (vancomycin) directly into the wound during surgery can prevent infections in open fractures. It's for people who need metal hardware to fix their broken bone.
This trial tests putting vancomycin antibiotic powder into open fracture wounds in the emergency department to see if it reduces infections. If you have an open fracture, this may lower your risk of getting an infection.
This study tests whether a specific wound rinse (“SynEx”) helps healing in adults with certain types of recent arm or leg wounds. You would not be eligible if your injury is too severe for home-type care or if it involves specific excluded conditions.
This trial tests whether drinking water is as good as saline (salt water) for cleaning fresh cuts and scrapes. It aims to find a simpler, cheaper way to clean wounds in the emergency room.
This trial tests whether a gentamicin antibiotic approach helps heal certain open tibia (shin bone) fractures while lowering infection risk. It focuses on adults with specific types of open, mostly closable tibia wounds treated within set time limits.
