Spleen stiffness test for advanced liver scarring

MASLD - Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have MASLD (fatty liver disease not caused by alcohol).
  • You have advanced liver scarring (fibrosis stage F3 or F4) or high liver stiffness on a non-invasive test (more than 15 kPa), or you have moderate liver stiffness (more than 8 kPa) and are scheduled for a liver biopsy.
  • You do not have other causes of liver disease (like hepatitis, alcohol, or autoimmune conditions).
  • You have not had liver cancer, a liver transplant, or serious liver-related complications.
