Who can take part

  • You have heart failure that is getting worse (symptoms like shortness of breath, swelling)
  • Your heart's pumping ability is less than or equal to 45%
  • You have a high NT-proBNP level (a marker of heart strain)
  • Your blood pressure is at least 100 mmHg
  • You are not currently using long-acting nitrates, other similar heart medicines, or intravenous inotropes
  • You do not have a left ventricular assist device (heart pump)
