Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You have type 1 diabetes or LADA (diagnosed for at least one year).
  • You do not drink more than 2 alcoholic drinks per day (if male) or 1.5 drinks (if female).
  • You do not have other chronic liver diseases (like viral hepatitis, genetic conditions, etc.).
  • You are not currently taking medications that can cause fatty liver (like corticosteroids, tamoxifen, etc.).
  • You are not pregnant, and your life expectancy is more than 5 years.
