Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You are a candidate for a cochlear implant and still have some natural hearing in the low frequencies after the implant.
  • You use a MED-EL brand cochlear implant that has electric-acoustic stimulation (EAS).
  • You are willing and able to give written permission to be in the study.
  • You do not have severe memory or thinking problems that would make it hard to follow the study.
  • You are willing to have your hearing tested with a standard hearing test (pure tone audiometry).
