Who can take part

  • You are between 11 and 18 years old
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is at or above the 95th percentile for your age and gender
  • You have a diagnosis of fatty liver disease confirmed by MRI scan
  • You do not have any other liver disease, diabetes, or thyroid problems
  • You have not taken antibiotics or nutritional supplements in the last 3 months
  • You are not on medications that affect fat or liver, such as steroids, metformin, or vitamin E
