  • Age 60 or older
  • Hospitalized for a moderate to severe recent brain injury (like a head injury, stroke, or brain bleed)
  • Low levels of a protein called albumin or prealbumin in your blood, which can affect healing
  • Able to provide consent yourself or have a family member do it for you
  • Not have cancer, certain eye problems from diabetes, or unstable vital signs
