Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are scheduled for a heart valve procedure, like valve repair or replacement.
  • You do not have congenital heart disease (except a bicuspid aortic valve).
  • You do not have carcinoid heart disease, a valve mass, or an active valve infection (endocarditis).
  • You do not have any other condition that your doctor thinks might make it hard for you to complete the study.
