Arm support's effect on walking after stroke

Who can take part

  • You had a stroke that affects one side of your body (hemiplegia).
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You can walk for at least 2 minutes without stopping.
  • You do not have any medical reason that would prevent using a cane, tripod, or similar walking aid.
  • You do not have trouble speaking or understanding language (aphasia) or a recent second stroke.
  • You can follow simple instructions and score above a certain level on a memory and thinking test.
