Memantine and rosuvastatin for nerve protection during chemo
Treatments studied
Part of Brain & nervous system clinical trials.
This trial tests whether two common medications, memantine and rosuvastatin, can protect nerves during colorectal cancer treatment. If you are about to start chemotherapy with FOLFOX or XELOX, this study may help reduce nerve damage.

This trial tests whether taking coenzyme Q10 (a natural substance) can help prevent nerve damage caused by the chemotherapy drug oxaliplatin in people with stage III colorectal cancer. If successful, it could reduce pain, numbness, or tingling during treatment.
This trial tests whether ketotifen can protect against nerve damage (called peripheral neuropathy) caused by oxaliplatin, a common chemotherapy used for stage III colon cancer. If it works, it may help reduce tingling, numbness, or burning pain in the hands and feet.
This trial tests whether the drug memantine can help prevent or reduce nerve pain and other side effects caused by the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel in breast cancer patients. If you are about to start weekly paclitaxel, this study may offer extra protection to your nerves.
This trial tests if adding fenofibrate to standard treatment (VRd) can prevent nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) caused by bortezomib in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma. If you are starting VRd therapy, this study may help reduce pain or numbness from the chemotherapy.
This trial tests whether taking probiotics can reduce nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) caused by oxaliplatin chemotherapy in people with stage III colon cancer. If you are starting chemo soon, this study may help protect your nerves.
This study looks for small molecules in the blood that might predict nerve damage caused by certain chemotherapies. If you have colorectal or lung cancer and are starting a specific chemo plan, this trial could help researchers understand why some people get nerve problems and others don't.
