Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • Your daily activity level is mostly independent (ECOG 0 or 1).
  • You have head and neck squamous cell carcinoma that has spread or returned and cannot be cured with surgery or radiation.
  • You have not had chemotherapy for advanced disease before (if you had chemo with radiation or surgery, it must have ended more than 6 months ago).
  • You have at least one tumor that can be measured on a CT or MRI scan.
