Heart Function Recovery After Balloon Angioplasty for Lung Blood Clots

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH—a condition where old blood clots block lung arteries) and your doctors agree you are a candidate for balloon angioplasty
  • You have undergone or will undergo a right heart catheterization test showing specific blood pressure patterns in your lungs
  • Your CTEPH cannot be treated with surgery, or you had surgery before but symptoms returned
  • You are not pregnant, do not have active infections or uncontrolled diseases, and do not have advanced kidney disease
