Who can take part

  • You are having laparoscopic bariatric surgery (sleeve gastrectomy or mini gastric bypass)
  • Your BMI is between 35 and 60
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You have no serious lung disease before surgery
  • Your oxygen level is 92% or higher on room air before surgery
  • You have never had a collapsed lung or lung injury from air pressure
