  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome, myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm, or acute myeloid leukemia
  • Be starting hypomethylating agent-based chemotherapy (a type of blood cancer treatment)
  • Not have had a fever or infection in the past month
  • Not have had a C. difficile infection in the past 12 months
  • Be expected to survive at least 30 days based on your doctor's assessment
