  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You need a tooth removed or treated by a dentist (root canal, extraction, or tooth removal for orthodontics, surgery, or gum disease)
  • You have not taken anti-inflammatory pain relievers (like ibuprofen or aspirin) in the 12 hours before your dental appointment
  • You are not under court-ordered legal guardianship or curatorship
  • You have been told about the study and are willing to participate
