Who can take part
- Confirmed diagnosis of inclusion body myositis (IBM) using standard diagnostic criteria, or you are a healthy control participant
- Age 40 or older
- Able to walk short distances (with or without a cane, walker, or other aid)
- Able to eat solid or soft foods (not requiring only tube feeding)
- Able to understand English well enough to provide consent and follow study procedures
- Not currently enrolled in another medical research study, or not enrolled in one within the past 3 months
