At-Home Ear Stimulation for Walking and Balance in Parkinson's

This study tests a small device worn on your ear (called taVNS) that sends mild electrical signals to help improve walking and balance problems in Parkinson's disease. You'll use it at home, and researchers will track whether it helps you move better.

Who can take part

  • Diagnosed with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (the common form, not caused by something else)
  • Experience walking or balance problems that a neurologist has confirmed
  • Parkinson's stage 2–4 (moderate disease progression)
  • Stable on your Parkinson's medications for at least 30 days before starting
  • No history of brain surgery, traumatic brain injury, or stroke
  • Able to safely use the ear device at home, either alone or with a caregiver's help
  • No implanted devices like pacemakers that aren't compatible with MRI scans
