Massage therapy for leg stiffness after stroke

Who can take part

  • You are 40 years or older
  • You had an ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke (not other causes of brain injury)
  • Your stroke was 1–6 months ago (early recovery stage)
  • You have stiffness in your thigh muscle (quadriceps) that limits movement
  • You can walk, with or without crutches, walker, or other aids
  • You are medically stable enough to participate in therapy sessions
