Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You have been on a breathing machine for at least 5 days
  • Your heart and blood pressure are stable enough for the therapy
  • You are unconscious or deeply sedated (unable to follow commands)
  • Your legal representative (family member or healthcare proxy) can provide permission
  • You do not have a pacemaker or implantable heart defibrillator
