Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 70 years old
  • Have a diagnosis of vegetative state (unresponsive wakefulness) or minimally conscious state from a brain injury that occurred within the last year
  • Be right-handed
  • Not currently taking sedative medications or drugs that interfere with brain stimulation
  • Have no metal implants in your skull, brain, heart, or spine
  • Have no uncontrolled seizures (no seizures in the past 4 weeks)
