  • Your child is under puberty age (generally under 10–12 years old)
  • Your child has been diagnosed with autoimmune hyperthyroidism (not another type of thyroid overactivity)
  • Your child's hyperthyroidism was caused by the immune system, typically Graves' disease or thyroiditis
