Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have type 2 diabetes
  • You have a foot ulcer that has not healed for at least 2 weeks
  • Your ulcer is moderate to severe (Wagner grade 2–3) or you've had an amputation and need skin coverage
  • Your ulcer is at least 3 cm² in size (about the size of a postage stamp)
  • Your blood sugar is reasonably controlled and your body can handle surgery
