How the IVC changes during back stabilization surgery

Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are scheduled for elective (planned, not emergency) lumbar spine stabilization surgery under general anesthesia
  • Your overall health is in categories I, II, or III (according to the anesthesia risk scale)
  • Your blood pressure is stable (between 90 and 180 mmHg)
  • You do not have a heart condition with ejection fraction below 40% or pulmonary artery pressure above 40 mmHg
  • Your body mass index is 30 or lower, and you are not pregnant
