This research study tracks early signs of immune system changes in children who received a liver transplant 3–7 years ago and are doing well. By studying blood and liver samples, researchers hope to better understand how to prevent rejection and improve long-term transplant survival.

Who can take part

  • You received a liver transplant before age 7 and it has been 3–7 years since your transplant
  • Your liver function tests have been stable and normal for the past year (ALT < 30, GGT < 50)
  • You have not had rejection episodes in the past 12 months
  • You take only tacrolimus (a single anti-rejection medicine) for at least 6 months, with stable doses
  • You do not have an active infection or other serious illness requiring ongoing immune-suppressing treatment
  • If you can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test at enrollment
