This study tests whether long-term liver transplant recipients (5+ years after transplant) can safely stop or reduce their immunosuppressant medications by checking for donor cells (chimerism) in the liver. If you have stable liver function and agree to a liver biopsy, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You had a liver transplant (from a living or deceased donor) at least 5 years ago.
  • Your liver function tests (blood tests) are stable and within normal limits.
  • You are at least 20 years old and feeling well enough to do daily activities (fully active or able to do light work).
  • You are willing to have a liver biopsy to check for donor cells in your liver.
  • No active infections, recent cancers, or signs of rejection in the past year.
