Who can take part
- You are scheduled for liver transplant surgery at Stanford University
- You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have not been treated for cancer (except non-melanoma skin cancer that is cured), or have active cancer
- You do not have hepatitis B or untreated hepatitis C
- You are not on dialysis and have not received another organ transplant
- You are able to attend follow-up visits and agree to liver biopsies (small tissue samples)
