Who can take part

  • Age 18 or older
  • Diagnosed with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (stage IIIB–IV without certain gene mutations), small cell lung cancer, head and neck cancer, or mesothelioma
  • Planning to start chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy within the next 4 weeks
  • Able to give blood samples for genetic research
  • No active hepatitis B or C requiring treatment in the past month (HIV patients on stable treatment are OK)
  • Not taking high-dose prednisone (more than 10 mg daily)
