Low-frequency electroacupuncture for diabetic nerve pain

Who can take part

  • Age 18–70 years old
  • Diagnosed with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage from diabetes) with specific nerve test findings and symptoms in both lower legs
  • No severe heart, kidney, liver, or brain problems
  • No open sores, ulcers, or gangrene on your legs or feet
  • Have not had acupuncture or moxibustion treatment for this condition in the past 3 months
  • Able to understand and sign informed consent, and willing to be randomly assigned to treatment or waitlist
