Who can take part

  • Your child is between 2 and 11 years old
  • Your child is having planned lower belly surgery (hernia repair, undescended testicle treatment, or circumcision)
  • Your child is in generally good health (ASA status I or II—no serious medical conditions)
  • You can provide written permission and complete study questionnaires honestly
  • Your child has not had developmental delays, autism, psychiatric conditions, or serious vision/hearing problems
  • Your child is not currently taking sedatives, antipsychotic drugs, or seizure medications
