Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You had a major stroke caused by a clot in the front or side part of your brain (confirmed by imaging)
  • You received emergency clot-removal surgery within 24 hours of your stroke
  • Your clot was successfully removed during surgery
  • Before your stroke, you were able to care for yourself independently or with minimal help
  • You do not have serious bleeding, heart disease, kidney failure, brain tumors, or other major medical conditions that would make the study unsafe
