Who can take part
- Have had a mini-stroke or stroke within the last 12 months caused by a narrowed artery (>70% blockage) on one side of your neck
- Have imaging (angiography) showing the narrowing, with no significant blockages on the other side
- Recent brain MRI shows no new stroke damage
- A PET or MR scan shows reduced blood flow in the affected brain area (at least 10% less than the other side)
- Able to complete MRI scans and follow-up appointments, and able to give informed consent
- No other brain disorders (like Parkinson's, epilepsy, or brain tumor) or serious medical conditions affecting the liver, kidneys, or blood
