  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are hospitalized for acute heart failure (new or worsening)
  • Your doctor believes you need IV diuretics (intravenous water pills)
  • You can read and sign an informed consent form
  • Your kidney function is not severely impaired (eGFR of 20 or higher)
  • You are not pregnant, nursing, or expected to have a life expectancy under 30 days
