Who can take part
- You have a BMI (body mass index) of 30 or higher at the time you join
- You have been diagnosed with heart failure that is currently stable, with symptoms ranging from mild to moderate-to-severe
- You have not had a heart attack, stroke, or unstable chest pain in the past 30 days, and your heart failure has not recently worsened enough to need hospitalization or IV diuretics
- You do not have certain rare types of heart disease (such as amyloid or sarcoid heart disease) or severe lung disease requiring home oxygen or frequent oral steroids
- If you have diabetes, your blood sugar (HbA1c) is 10% or lower, and you have not had recent eye problems from diabetes requiring treatment in the past 6 months
- If you have diabetes, it was diagnosed at least 30 days before joining the study
