Who can take part

  • You have one-sided facial weakness from Bell's palsy that started within the last month
  • Your BMI (body mass index) is less than 30
  • You can follow simple spoken instructions and move your face on command during the study
  • You do not have facial paralysis on both sides of your face
  • Your facial weakness is not caused by trauma, tumors, infection, stroke, or other known conditions
  • You do not have significant facial scars, burns, or deformities that would prevent accurate imaging
