  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have been referred to an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) clinic because of a suspected throat abscess
  • You can understand and consent to participate in the study
  • You have not had previous surgery or needle drainage for this current throat infection
  • Your airway is stable and you do not need emergency breathing assistance
