Who can take part
- Age 40–80 years old
- Recent mini-stroke, temporary vision loss, or minor stroke (within 28 days) from a carotid artery in your neck
- Moderate carotid artery narrowing (50–69%) confirmed by imaging
- MRI evidence of vulnerable plaque (specific lipid or hemorrhage patterns)
- On high-dose statin therapy for at least 4 weeks, or willing to start one
- LDL cholesterol level ≥70 mg/dL and able to undergo MRI scans
